| TRADING STATUS: USE MY SERVER!! I'm rarely if ever doing any mail trades. The time has finally come, the technology is truly amazing. As a 20 year trader, it really never occurred to me that one day we'd just be clicking , saving and burning all in the confines of our home offices. Amazing it is!! So here's how it works: I'm more about giving my stuff away than I really am about acquiring more. Unless it's some newly available SBD of a Phish/Dead show, chances are I won't have a great interest. I have tons of shows just sitting around that I haven't had a chance to label or listen to, so I really don't need anymore. Having said that, you can probably guess that the old list here is also a bit out of date. There are many additional shows from Phish, STS9. Raq, Addison Groove Project etc. Just ask. I grant access to my server to almost anyone. My upload is capped at about 3, which means you'll likely get a download speed of 30kb or so per second. All shows are broken up into discs so they are ready for burning. Just decode the FLAC and you are on your way. If you are not familiar with the FLAC format, see http://flac.soundforge.net for the program and info about it. It is very simple to use and allows you to both decode as well as encode. The end result of decoding will be wav files you can use in Roxio etc. Some CD buring applications(Nero and perhaps some others) can burn audio right from the FLAC file. FLAC is a wonderful creation, and I need to mention it's creator, Josh Coalson. Video is just too large based on my upload cap. So anyway.... I give out the server's address pretty easily, so just ask. GUIDE TO TERMS: D=Digital SBD=Soundboard AUD=Audience UN=Unknown origin MR=Master Reel MC=Master Cassette PCM=44.056khz digital IEM-Inner Ear Monitor Many of my Dead shows are still on DAT. I master them, one by one to CDR using an HHB CDR800 linked via AES/EBU to a Sony PCM-R500 DAT Deck. It has taken me and will continue to take me forever to get all of the material I have on DAT properly re formatted to CDR. In many cases. I have estimated the number of discs required based on the show's date, and whether it is on a 2 hour or 3 hour DAT tape. If I estimated 2 and it turned out to be three, don't worry..you'll get the disc(ask anyone!). Frankly if it wasn't for other traders requesting this stuff, I'd never get it all transferred to CDR, so ask away, just be patient if it takes longer than usual to get these discs out to you. DVDR: I do not send out videotapes at all anymore, just DVDR. I will trade out DVDR in return for videotape if it's something I want. I will transfer video to DVDR and return to you your original videotape and the DVD copy if it's a performance I want to make a DVDR of. There are rarely compatibility issues with modern day DVDR. I use type 2(Pro) blanks, and have yet to come across someone that had problems playing them. One important note: never attach labels to the disc as you could on a CDR. This often causes problems with tracking as the pitch of the laser is very fine and any disc wobble at all can cause a malfunction. I usually get 4 cd's for each dvd due to cost and time realities.
