Beth
Ann was my second born and only girl. We found out
that she had anencephaly after getting back my AFP
results and doing an ultrasound. Inducing labor was
their only advice to us and we were totally clueless
about anencephaly at that point. So that is what we
did. After joining Mourning Mommies and finding out
that so many carried to term some days I wish that I
had, but truly I know delivering early was what was
best for me.
As with many
others I am still grieving daily for my baby girl, but
have gone on to have another perfectly healthy baby
boy. Now I have two wonderful boys to keep me busy,
but they remind me daily of their sister and we talk
about her often. We have an angel in my flower bed in
her memory and it keeps her alive for them as well as
for my husband and I, (kind of like I have all my kids
in one spot).
