We
found out our baby had anencephaly at 12 weeks during an
ultrasound. We had an early u/s because I was very big
and the midwife thought that I was either off on my
dates or was having twins. Our baby apparently had a
severe form, so they did not give us the option to carry
to term. I was, however, referred for a second opinion
to a Perinatologist who confirmed the diagnosis. We terminated the pregnancy 2 days later.
I
have been married to Brian for 12 years and we have 2
daughters, Shelby age 10 and Kylie age 3. We also lost
another baby to miscarriage in 1995. |
