| In September 2003 Eskaton through World Serpent Distribution release the debut Mount Vernon Astral Temple album Musick That Destroys Itself. The album has two tracks, London Praises its Ancient Gods and Warner's Reverie, each measuring twenty minutes and two seconds exactly. The cover, based on photography by Mark Pilkington who also wrote the splendid sleeve notes, was designed by Peter Christopherson. The first 1000 copies of Musick That Destroys Itself contain a bonus live CD featuring two previously unreleased recordings, We Build a Golem for London and The Black Noise. Both tracks feature additional members Pamela Cobb(moogs), Brad Cunningham (more moogs),and John Cavanagh (synthi vcs3) who, as Phosphene, reinterpreted the recordings in a room that was all dolls house darkness and old perfume. |
