This is the official story of Mount Colah. The home of legendary bushranger Augustus Colah.

NSW has known many legendary bush rangers – the Kelly gang, Dan Morgan, Flannery “Jazz-Hands” Ruffles. The list is nearly endless and new stories are being discovered every year from the pages of colonial era police reports. None of these stories are more infamous or intriguing than that of August T “The Leafy Slasher” Colah – a desperate man living in a desperate time.

On August 17th, 1812 I the town of Limerick, Ireland baby Augustus was born to Declan and Mirabelle Colah. Declan, a local frog-spawn researcher (an unusual and emerging profession at the time) had met Mirabelle (a seamstress and part-time raunchy calendar model) only the summer before.
