| Thinking of the many years these beaches were as if our own...Commanding from above, seagull and pelican, whale and wandering beachcomber, the sea below. Family fortune became frightful foe when wind and rain and water and earth began to shift and change. Selling the home, and property, to move into a double~wide mobile home on the edge of town was the best these two pioneers could do with the fate of their home sinking into the Sea. Newcomers would have the necessary cash to completely move the home my grandparents built with noble hand and artistic skill.. Newcomers would move the big house back a~ways. Grandpa always loved the wind~whipped sea...and wanted to be very "close to the edge". Memories are all that is needed...to bring back the rich salt~sea and smells of maternity... ..the rich and rosey line of my mother..... .and her family. |
