The Glacier Lily or Dog-toothed
Violet is one of the most beautiful, but fragile Rocky Mountain flowers.
Its 3 petals and 3 sepals curl back, exposing 6 yellow stamens and the
style to full view. Two large, broad, pointed leaves grow from the base
of the plant. The inside of this flower is facing down. This flower in
its natural terrain was found in Waterton Lakes National Park in
July 1995. |
