Rocky Mountain Flowers

Western Columbine
The Western Columbine has daintily suspended flowers which attract butterflies and hummingbirds. These were found on the western slopes of the Chilkoot Pass in Alaska in early July 1990. The pass was snow covered and the eastern side in Northern British Columbia was void of most flowers except for many varieties of heather and other smaller plants. Photos by John Fisher
