I believe, that a community like ours should have a well functioning
and up-to-date site for two important reasons. 1) It is an important
vehicle in today’s environment to keep pace with the on goings and 2)
Helps to preserve, if not increase the value of MBV in relation to other
communities nearby.
Unfortunate, of late, the MBV site has suffered from unexpected staff
turnover. Coupled with the use of HTML language, makes it hard, if not
almost impossible, to maintain the site successfully.
In order to turn the current situation around and prevent
reoccurrences, I propose the following solution:
1) In order to eliminate the difficulty of managing the HTML
language and the limited design currently used, I recommend that we
utilize the web authoring software already subscribed to by MBV,
(Microsoft FrontPage 2000), where WYSWYG, which has the capability
to vastly enhance the appearance of a web site but also allow for
predictable and controlled updates.
2) The unexpected staff turnover will be a problem for obvious
reasons in the future if residents have primary responsibility for
updating and maintenance.
Therefore, it is my recommendation that the local staff of CCMC
become the custodian of our site with support from community
members. Not only will the
expected turnover be eliminated but also potential problems, which
arise when different hardware and software is used from remote
locations, in cases where Villagers are gone for the summer.
For your information, I have been developing a site, which could be
used by MBV at a point in time, and would be willing to meet with the
appropriate committee to go over my proposed design and its maintenance.
More importantly, I believe, that the MBV Board needs to consider the
above solution in order to prevent our current and future problems.

Two other problems must be resolved as well. Those are the change to
a different server company and the availability of the MBV.org URL for
use.
