With innocence and faith, I walk in Love's protective light. By giving of myself freely I am richer and twice blest. Bonded to all mankind by common fellowship, My goodwill is universal And knows no bounds. I am the Pig.. Pigs are born under the sign of honesty and whereas the West tends to downgrade the Pig's status, the East is far more enlightened. They consider it a compliment to be called a Pig, knowing the great value that comes from having a Pig in the family. One often-quoted Chinese proverb says, "A teacher should never abandon his books, or the poor man his Pig." And no wonder. No other animal works harder or plays harder. Well informed and gregarious, the robust and hearty Pig loves company and shines in a happy throng. Although the Pig is essentially a masculine sign, both male and female pigs share one characteristic - they really go to town when it comes to their wardrobe. Others may simply get dressed; pigs dress up. Spot someone in a snazzy outfit, perhaps a little over the top, and the odds are you are looking at a Pig. Not generally career people, Pig ladies excel in a domestic environment. On the other hand, the Chinese point out that a small number of pigs have homes a bit like... well Pigsties. These pigs care nothing for their surroundings are not very bright upstairs and dress in anything that comes to hand. But both Pig types are just the way they want. Pigs, male and female, tend to big hearted and well-organised people who are not given to much self-analysis or bothered by world problems. They are down to earth and durable, which is why the Chinese say that pigs seldom go hungry. Because of this, the Pig tends to be over confident and therefore a prime target for con men of all sorts. pigs, it is said, are easily duped in both romance and business. Once taken for a ride, the previously credulous Pig becomes over suspicious and rapidly constructs an emotional defensive wall which is almost impossible to break down. Great lovers of gossip, pigs usually get straight to the point in serious discussions, having first waited in the background to gauge their position. Although they argue forcibly, pigs are prone to get their facts wrong. pigs hate disputes of any kind and handle them badly; first making their point too strongly and then retreating when the going gets rough. However, pigs do not bear grudges and because they hold themselves in such high esteem, care little of what others think. "Take me as you find me." Is the Pig's motto. Pigs in love pose a problem for themselves and everyone else. They fall in love far too easily and tend to wear their hearts on their sleeves. No other sign has so many stars for auspicious relationships. The Chinese emphasise the point by saying that pigs, lacking initiative, will always perform better in partnerships. The three phases of the Pig's life will not be greatly varied. The young Pig will enjoy a well-balanced childhood, although some of their dreams might not be realised. Love poses a problem to a Pig in mid-life, as do the ever present confidence tricksters, but the Pig's ability to work all hours will usually ensure that there's enough in the bank to compensate for a broken heart. Old age holds no fears and the Pig who gets to his or her four score and ten will have a full and happy final stage, reflecting on the many busy hours. |
