Information about CD Recording Technology.

CDR technology has already started long during the 90's period as a mean

to combat fungus attacks against media. The life of these CDs could be

prolonged to a life period of approximately 100 years of storage as claimed

by many CD manufacturing companies.

How CDs were written.

High temperature writing laser was shined onto the reflective surface of the recordable surface of the CDRs thus creating pitches during the chemical reaction which was made on the recordable surface of the CDRs. The movement of the writing arms moves vertically from in to outside brim of the CDRs.

Types of recorders.

Recorders had been improved over the years where the writing speed varies from 2X to a incredible 12X. CD rewritable drive was also produced to give users a choice to write and erase a CD with limited number of times to prevent wastage of media. The writing speed of these drives ranged from a 2X to  a mere 4X. Some of these drives do comes with additional features like on chip burn proof technology, Laser control writing to suite media via small internal microprocessor and additonal buffer size at the range of 1MB to a 4MB (Like the Yamaha or the Plexwriter drive).

SCSI Cards.

Models of these cards has been evaluated and improved with increase speed of data transfer at the speed of 160MB/Sec (Ultra SCSI) to 240MB/SEC (SCSI-4 standard) . These cards provide accurate and fast data transfer to prevent slow down of data used in business activities.

Brands of medium.

CDs that complies to ISO standards like Kodak, Mitsui, Maxell, TDK and some other brands could well be suitable for CD recording.

Suites of software used in CD recording on PCs.

Recording CD software like Gear Multimedia, Nero Burning Rom, Easy CD Creator Standard or Deluxe, CDRWin, Direct CD or software produced from Golden Hawk company could be used for CD mastering of important datas.

Usual procedure taken by many to write CDRs or CDRW.

1)Choose a 'good' manufactured CD.

2)Update all drivers, patches for CD recording software (Presume Original) and drive

   Bios etc.

3)Close off all unneccessary program from windows except systray and explorer from

   end task menu when you press CTRL-ALT-DEL.

4)Use high end SCSI card model to improve cd writing process thus cutting down on

    buffers underrun issues.

5)Pull out the blank cd from the jewel case box by holding to the brim of the CD edge

   by your first and third finger and put it into the recorder drive without touching the

   inner circular ring or the writing surface. (We know that the third finger is used to

  scold @#$^%&).

CD label markers.

Singapore do have stocks on all these marker pens with different brands and its easily available at any stationary stores like Books Kinokuniya or book stores. Japan also manufacture this marker with this brand called Zebra Good Light Fine on the other hand. The only different with these Zebra pens is that it comes with two different tips and both ends of the pen. They are normal pen tip and slim marker pen tip respectively.

Further improvement of sound while playing with recorded music CD or MDs.

CDs and Minidisc based music could be further improved on PC speakers by swipping your last finger surface on the speaker connector plug. Plug in the connector into the sound card and wipe both side of your hand (that used to swipe the connector) with a cloth.
