The Imperial Capital (that would be Tokyo..) is in danger. A group of women who have high spiritual powers disguised as an opera troupe are the only chances for victory. Shinguji Sakura arrives one day to join them. Her late father also fought against the mysterious evil that plagues Tokyo, five years ago. It is said that Sakura has really high spiritual powers. Sakura must first become friends with the Hana Gumi ladies before anything. Then she must train with Kobu, the machine that they use to fight. Sakura Taisen isn't just all about fighting. You get to watch each of the characters grow and find out more about why Tokyo is being targeted. It's strange and original, but also very interesting.
