TENKUU NO ESCAFLOWNE
VISION OF ESCAFLOWNE

Kanzaki Hitomi runs track and reads tarot cards. But her life changed when one night, she was taken to Gaia, a place where the Earth and its moon hang in the sky. The first person who befriends her is Van Fanel, who appeared before her on Earth and transported back to Gaia with Hitomi. He is the future King of Fanelia. In Gaia, Hitomi starts having presentient dreams about events in the future and they're extremely accurate. She travels along with Van, whose country was destroyed the day he was crowned King, and his Guymelef, Escaflowne. Escaflowne is the legendary dragon armor (it's like a Gundam but not made of Gundanium...) that the country Zaibach wants. The ending holds so many unexpected outcomes and keep you in suspense until it's over. The music, by Kanno Yoko (also composer of music for Cowboy Bebop, along with talented voice actors, are just as spectacular. The Escaflowne movie is a different angel to the Escaflowne story. It has the same characters but a totally different portrayal. For detailed info on the movie, click here. I'm warning you now that there are major spoilers in that website!!
