The air would rush to meet your pulse,
You'd never ask for something else!
One can't deny the gentle bliss,
Of basking calmly in a summer kiss.
If ever night held the answer to pain,
The summer evenings would cure my strain.
The warmth and power of the searing heat,
The order of my heart that beats.
The beaches clear with memories past,
Give birth to want of friends at last.
In the blue of water's touch
We each beheld the pleasures much.
The golden rays of life above,
Rise up each day with joy to come.
It feeds the green beneath the air,
And I will find my pleasure there.
The sands of warmth beneath my feet,
Which tenderize in my quick retreat.
I cool them in the clear white rush,
The crystal dream I love so much.
With smiles and tears from friends I know,
Into each day with ease I go.
The jokes, the pranks, the games, the fun,
I wish the summer was never done.
In the boiling heat of this bright red season,
Her arms grip me in the tightest passion.
We share the love we forged together,
Of her, I pledge I will remember.
If you try real hard and give it thought,
You find yourself in the very same spot.
Alive with the feelings of heat and bliss,
When touched by the heat of a summer kiss.
Dan's Notes: My first real attempt a poetry. They say that writers of all types tend to write about that which they are familiar with. I guess the same holds true here. This is a poem about my summer days back in Sarnia during 2002 and 2001. Go easy with the laughter!
This is my writing. If you want to rip it off, there really isn't much I can do to stop you, but you will be shunned in your next life. If you have something to say about it or want to comment, critisize, or question something, then head to the guest book and speak your mind there, or e-mail me personally.
