They say that time will heal all wounds,
They say that love will conquer all.
I've never thought much of what they say
Since it doesn't ring true anyway.

If time itself can cure it all
And wash away the strife of man
And grow us to be rich and strong,
Then why does it take so freaking long?

If love can shake that which is fate
And twist the laws of time and space,
Why is it love can just be lost,
When a single path in two does cross?

They say that money is not the world,
They say that lying is such a sin.
You think they practice what they preach?
I think that that's beyond their reach.

The greed of few controls the world,
Their power granted by cash and coin.
Make no mistake, even the truth
Can be bought if you want it to.

If honesty were set in stone,
And nobody ever told a lie
Would life as is be quite this way?
Could you live your life and not stray?

They say we master our own fate,
They tell us it was meant to be.
Which way you go is up to you,
For we all believe in our own truths.

If we control our destiny,
If we decide what's light and dark
Why are their times of sure dismay?
Why can't we all have our own way?

If each of us goes down a path
And we can never stray or stop
And life has only one direction
Why do we struggle with decisions?

They say a lot of things they do
They say all sorts of this and that.
I'd tell you what I have to say,
But wouldn't that make me a they?
Dan's Notes: Okay, so I was in a "To be or not to be" mood one night and this is what came from it. As always, I'm hoping it will make those of you out there who read it stop and think a little.
This is my writing. If you want to rip it off, there really isn't much I can do to stop you, but you will be shunned in your next life. If you have something to say about it or want to comment, critisize, or question something, then head to the guest book and speak your mind there, or e-mail me personally.
