Twisted and lied to like a crying eyed me,
Foul and burnt like all the stars see,
Defeated, encompassed,
Alone on the street.
Courageous and willing like the morning sunrise,
Competent and thrilling to awaken alive,
Like young soldiers thinking that they'll never die,
Excited, required,
Wanting to try.
Frightened and timid to expose the truth,
Foiled and rigid, the fear to be loose,
A still statue solid and never to move,
Weak, can't speak,
Can't possibly choose.
Peaceful and pleasant like a warm fireplace,
Potent to present the red in the face,
Enchanting the mind like a lullaby's trace,
Birthing, nursing,
It makes the heart race.
Dark and mysterious like places unknown,
Down in the weariest caverns below,
Cool and ancient like dreams have all shown,
Tranquil, blue,
Deep it has grown.
Fighting to fix that, which is wrong,
Falling apart like a poorly made song,
The pain of failure just seems to prolong,
Angered, tired,
Trying for too long.
Wishful and teary of better things coming,
Wanting the light like a child awakening,
Will visions go numb and not end up being?
Content, confident,
Reminds all of seeing.
Bright and with flavor into each day go,
