I've started a new project bike, a 1975 Moto Guzzi 850 T-3, a Police bike that was never put in service but sold on the civilian market. I'd lusted after a Guzzi for about 20 years and this one turned up. Bought it from a good friend. It was sold new in Birmingham, ridden for about a year then traded in on a 1000cc at the same shop that sold it new. It only has a little over 9,000 miles on it. It sat in the dealership until it closed down in the 80's, then sat in a barn until 2006. The engine was stuck, the brakes were frozen but it was mostly intact, low mileage and original. A good starting point! I am a glutton for punishment so it was completely dismantled. It is slowly coming back together. |
