Show Guidelines and Rules:

1) Motown Live will begin promptly at 8am, set up will begin at 7 am. We will be judging all of the divisions AT THE SAME TIME in their respective rings, so please be prepared. THIS WILL BE A FAST-PACED SHOW! Remember to LISTEN for your classes to be called--it is helpful to prepare a list of which horses will be entered in which classes to you as a guide to yourself on show day.   It is advised to have your first performance class entries tacked up before arriving at the show hall.

2); NO proxy showing is allowed at Motown Live.

3) Tags-all models must have a tag with the breed/sex on one side and horses name and your 3 initials on the other. You may also write out your name. Horses should be placed in the ring with the breed/sex side UP.

4) Each entrant will have an assigned space-please be prepared to share a table.

5) We will be using the string method  to identify which horses should be left in the ring after the judges have made their initial inspection. Horses without a string on them should be removed from the ring when called.

6) Performance--please note that we will adhere to time limits between classes of 15 minutes, subject to the judge's  discretion. We are NOT going to hold halter classes for any horse that is
cross-entered in a performance class, so plan your entries accordingly.

7) There will be NO live animals, smoking, alcohol, or obscene language allowed in the show hall. Children are to be with their parents at ALL times and properly supervised. Children should not be allowed to run unsupervised in the show hall. If your child is acting unruly then you may be asked to remove him/her from the show hall to protect the other participants' entries. It is really best that small children be left at home, if possible.

8) DO NOT pick up and/or handle another entrant's horses without permission!! If you break it, you bought it, and you should be prepared to make arrangements to pay for the damage immediately with the owner of the model. This INCLUDES any damages by children in the show hall!  The show hostesses, judges and the facility are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property.

9) Judges' decisions are final. Please do not talk to the judges while they are judging classes. They may be available between classes to answer any questions.

10) You are responsible for keeping track of your horses' 1st and 2nd placings for callbacks. 1st and 2nd place horses in each division will receive a NAN card and qualify for the following North American Nationals.   More information about NAN and NAMHSA can be found on their website:  www.namhsa.org.

11) Handlers, props, etc. are not allowed in any Breed/finish classes. Halters are optional for all breed classes; you may show your horses in the appropriate breed halter, if you wish. Easily tipped models may be laid in the ring on a soft cloth, as long as the entrant allows the judge to pick up the model to inspect the off side.

12) Breaks: we will have a SHORT lunch break around noon (45 minutes). We may also have a short break for dinner.  Given the scope and expanse of this show, it may run as late as 8 PM, so please be prepared!

13) Unclaimed horses in a ring will be moved by the show hostesses, if necessary.

14) If classes are less than 3 or more than 30 entries, the judge has the right to combine or split where needed.

15) CM Glazed chinas, Pour horses, AA Chinas will show with the Resins for 2006.  Breyer Chinas will show with the plastic entries.

AGAIN for 2006!  Double Judging!

We will be
double-judging our Breyer and Stone Halter classes!  This means that the Collectibility classes will be COMBINED with the Halter classes during each breed class.  For example, all of the entries on the table for Arabians will be judged by one judge based on breed standard, conformation and realism to that breed and she will award a 1st through 10th placing.  The SECOND judge for that  same class will judge all of the same entries on the table for Collectibility, rarety and condition, and award her 1-10th placing.   There will be the opportunity to pick up two NAN cards for each class!!  Entrants are encouraged to place 3x5 index cards next to models with descriptions for the judge.

Please note:  We will limit our double-judging to only the Stone and Breyer classes--resins, customs and minis will not be included.
