Show Guidelines and Rules: 1) Motown Live will begin promptly at 8am, set up will begin at 7 am. We will be judging all of the divisions AT THE SAME TIME in their respective rings, so please be prepared. THIS WILL BE A FAST-PACED SHOW! It is advised to have your first performance class entries tacked up before arriving at the show hall. 2) NO proxy showing is allowed at Motown Live. 3) Tags-all models must have a tag with the breed/sex on one side and horses name and your 3 initials on the other. You may also write out your name. Horses should be placed in the ring with the breed/sex side UP. 4) Each entrant will have an assigned space-please be prepared to share a table. 5) We will be using the string method to identify which horses should be left in the ring after the judges have made their initial inspection. Horses without a string on them should be removed from the ring when called. 6) For all Halter classes, a horse can only show in one (1) breed class and one (1) finish/color class. Foals in each division (except China) show in their respective Foal breed class. If a model fits the qualifications for more than one class (i.e. glossy and SR in finish) then use your best judgement to decide where to place the model. 7) MINIS: minis are defined as Breyer Little Bit sized and smaller and may be plastic, custom, custom glazed chinas; or resin. Minis must be shown in their own division only, with the exception of Factory-glazed China Minis. These China Minis will show along with the other sized models in the China Breed Division. Mini resin, customs and custom glazed china pieces can be shown in the Color and workmanship Division. 8) Chinas -All factory-glazed china Minis and Foals show in their respective breed classes. Custom glazed chinas will show in the custom division. *Note this is a change from last year!* 9) Performance--please note that we will adhere to time limits between classes of 15 minutes, subject to the judge's discretion. We are NOT going to hold halter classes for any horse that is cross-entered in a performance class, so plan your entries accordingly. 10) There will be NO live animals, smoking, alcohol, or obscene language allowed in the show hall. Children are to be with their parents at ALL times and properly supervised. Children should not be allowed to run unsupervised in the show hall. If your child is acting unruly then you may be asked to remove him/her from the show hall to protect the other participants' entries. It is really best that small children be left at home, if possible. 11) DO NOT pick up and/or handle another entrant's horses without permission!! If you break it, you bought it, and you should be prepared to make arrangements to pay for the damage immediately with the owner of the model. This INCLUDES any damages by children in the show hall! The show hostesses, judges and the facility are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property. 12) Judges' decisions are final. Please do not talk to the judges while they are judging classes. They may be available between classes to answer any questions. 13) You are responsible for keeping track of your horses' 1st and 2nd placings for callbacks. 1st and 2nd place horses in each division will receive a NAN card and qualify for the following North American Nationals. 14) Handlers, props, etc. are not allowed in any Breed/finish classes. Halters are optional for all breed classes; you may show your horses in the appropriate breed halter, if you wish. Easily tipped models may be laid in the ring on a soft cloth, as long as the entrant allows the judge to pick up the model to inspect the off side. 15) Breaks: we will have a SHORT lunch break around noon (30 minutes). We will also break for dinner, and may try to plan a group dinner, if time allows. Given the scope and expanse of this show, it may run as late as 8 PM, so please be prepared! 16) Unclaimed horses in a ring will be moved by the show hostesses, if necessary. 17) If claases are less than 3 or more than 30, the judge has the right to combine or spilt where needed. |
