- Zephyr, Capri, and Cadet share the same basic body
and mechanical designs as their 1972 counterparts with obvious differences
on Zephyr and Capri being a wider ski stance and the elimination of foot
loop runningboard supports. MANY differences are apparent when placed
side by side to a 1972.
- New front bumper design, skis are wider "high floatation" painted
grey (unlike orange w/black tips on almost all models since 1965)
- Exclusive use of BSE engines throughout the Moto-Ski lineup
- Cowling redesigns for Zephyr and Capri. Back to a single
headlight. Hoods broke easily and are tough to find in good condition.
- Backrests and compartments eliminated on all models except
Zephyr and Capri which could have a motocycle style passenger back support
- Engine clutch, bogie wheels, and other small details are actually
ski-doo designed pieces most likely used to save money in manufacturing.
- While the tracks appear similar to the previous years, they are
actually of a different composition and so did not hold up as well. There
are also some length differences compared to before.
"F"(family) and "S"(sport)
- "F" and "S" models are first non-racing moto-skis designed for
use of slide rails only
- Tunnels are made from aluminum
- Engines are mounted forward and down into the belly-pan like
all newer sleds
- These two models mark an end to traditional Moto-Ski engineering
and can be viewed as a solid starting point of Moto-Ski's merger into
Bombardier.
