| This is the second car to exhibit the number 44 as the first was destroyed in a fire in 1930 when the car sheds at laxey burnt down. This car was built by the English Electric Company to replace the fire damaged No. 44 and was built to the same design as the original. Two more trailer cars, Nos. 40 and 41 were damaged by the fire replacements were built by EEC. No power cars were bought to replace the burnout power cars. |
