After round 14 of 15 of the AMA supercross series finished up, Jeff Emig found himself with another victory. Now Emig is leading the points by 13 over Jeremy McGrath. Many now question the ability of McGrath, can he win the championship one more time, or will Jeff Emig steel it away from him. McGrath definitely has the ability, for a guy who won 14 out 15 races in the 1996 season, he can most certainly wrap up another victory in Las Vegas. McGrath must get a first place in the Las Vegas supercross to have a chance at the championship. And hopefully his competition, Jeff Emig, will finish up with a third place or below. The problem is Jeff Emig has been racing solid and strong all season, and McGrath has been racing unpredictable. Its not that McGrath has slowed down, or that he has lost is nac for racing, Its that Emig and the rest of the racers have gotten faster. The fact that McGrath ran away with the points last year, and left all the other racers in the dust, has caused them to practice and race harder. All of the other racers wanted a piece of McGrath, and as it turned out Jeff Emig got that piece. On May 17, we will find out if the Champ can make a come back, or if the stronger then ever Emig will take the victory.
