Lamborghini Diablo VT The 1997 four-wheel drive Diablo can get to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, while still in first gear. The new Diablo will quickly finish the quarter mile in 12.6 mere seconds at an aggressive 119 mph. Under the hood of the Diablo is a huge V-12 with 492 horsepower. With a top speed of 204 mph, the Diablo is fast enough to race some small aeroplanes. Fast as the Diablo is, the rate of consumption is about 9 mpg in the city and a little over 12 mpg on the highway. The new four- wheel drive feature of the Diablo is more often than not unknown to the driver, and eliminates tail-happiness while making hard turns or just racing through a winding road. The new Diablo, however, is not as fast as its predecessors for two reasons: the four-wheel drive causes the car to have more traction to the road, and the power-steering feature adds on an additional 380 pounds. Though more driver friendly, the Diablo's body is still designed by Marcello Gandini, and, well, isn't a car one would call 'pretty.' The 5.7 liters of V-12 will cost about $268,005.![]()
