Like you I have been away from racing since 1980 I spent most of my youger years in and around one race car combination or another..finily winding up with a Pro Stock Camero.. Walker/Mangano 78 Camero. Stumbled on to a 96 SS from a local Toyta dealer yet. .Got my frist ticket in 12 years 4 hours after the purchase of the car. Impressed my wife and friends who think I'm in a mid life something..I am thinking about making some trips to the local muscle car challange races..but some basic modifications will h ve to be completed before that...Oh my best ET in the afore mentioned Camero was 8.59 @ 159 MHP I'm looking forward to the mid 13's these cars are capable of and at my age thats just like some of my old street cars and should be fun. My car is build numbe 662 has all the SLP options except car cover. Red and black and 50,000 on the clock..I'm going to start at the back and work to the front suspension work and sub frame ties..etc then a new clutch, and gear set, headers fuel pressure regulator....whew The brush off some cobwebs at a local 1/8 mi track (make sure it goes where I point it and stops where I want) I'm going to put this in a web page i'll send the url after I create it....Keep bang'n those gears your getting there..I'll leave with a saying let er'ed on one of my buddies pro gas car.."When the green flag drops the BS stops!!" I own a 96 SS which Iam very proud of. #869 I have ccurrently improved my SS with a hypertch programmer, also a prostat, a borla exhaust. The borla goes excellent with the SS. In the future {christmas)im getting SLP headers and SLP torque converter. Which will improve my time at the track (route 66 in Joliet}. You have nice SS. Maybe Ill see you on the road. {SS there is no substuite)
