Great site. One day ill have an SS, the 30th anniversary special edition if i can get my hands on one. Right now i couldnt touch one im only 16 and have a '93 3.4L and saving up for a Vortec supercharger. Thats my baby, its still bone stock. But one day i l have the SS. The camaro love runs in the family, my dad used to have a 67 pace car, but sold it and bought a 67 chevelle ss 396...nice also but just not the same. Keep up the nice page and keep beating the scum of the earth (mustangs and riceburners) If you get time give me some suggestions for hp-racing mods that i could make to my '93. Thanks

I really like your SS. My bro has a 2000. He threw on a K&N filter charger and thats pretty much all until he finisihes w/ it. He is planning to put a borla exhaust system on it. I just saw a 97 SS exactly like yours except white letters instead of red. I have a Explorer sport and I am getting tired of it, i'm thinking about trading it in for the SS. Hey Mike i own a 96 SS, red #418. I am only 18 and atending collage. My father graciously bought my SS for me about 2 years ago. When i first saw her it was like love at first sight. My SS was ordered by the local chevy dealer owner. He didn't drive i very much and then sold it to a preachers son who dated a girl who attended the same highschool as i did.(I always saw him pick her up in it or driving around during football practice.) One day when i talked to him about his car i jokingley said how muc you want for it! he said come over later tonight and we'll talk. So me my dad and mom went later that evening. he let me drive it. What a feeling. Driving something thats practically new.(It only had 18,000miles on it) The feeling of the torque putt n you in your seet at half throutle was great. I wasen't used to the fule injection feel. i also own a 67 camaro conv. 406 demon carb. Performer RPM heads. weind intake. .550 cam. fully forged crank rods and pistons. custom headers and exaust. 9In. rear end.New richmond five speed. drag slicks shes nice!Anyway(sorry) He didn'y drive it much either. Well my father liked it too and i didn't have a car so he bought it for me for 18,000$. (I'm a good kid i make good grades and dont get into trouble, I'm n t one of thouse spoiled little shits.) i though that was a very good price. I have been in LOVE with her ever since. All my girlfriends say i like that car more than i do them!HAHA I think i really do!:-) I dont have any money to spend on my baby curr ntly but soon hope to ! Congrats on the recovery! Like you, my first car was a 69 Camaro. Got it in 71 just a few weeks before I turned 16 and started driving. Them my passion turned to Chevelles. Glad to see you turned your life around. My addiction is my Rebel Machines. They keep me broke. My Rebel Machine site should be up and running soon if I ever get time to work on it for more than 5 minutes at a time. Considering the damage you've done o your system, you might want to check out Candidiasis on the web. Most alcoholics have it, it's dangerous and most doctors will not tell you about it. Candidiasis could be one of the main if not the main reasons abusers re-offend - their immune systems become compromised and the alcohol for instance becomes their immune system. When you get off the alcohol, even for as long a period as you have, you could still be at risk. You should check it out or get your self checked out. It's a pretty interestin subject to research. Own a '99SS. Billstein suspension. Performance exhaust(330hp). Performance axle. Black coupe. Automatic trans. So far an excellent ride. It has exceptional power and handles well. I like your SS. My cousin also has a Camaro. It's an 88' Iroc Z and it is as sweet as it can get. We also race it and his lowest time so far is 13.3@104mph. I think that you can get better because a SS should at least be hitting 13.5 for a stock.

I just wanted to take a second to complement you on you site. I completely understand your love for the SS. I just purchased my first new car which was a Black 2000 Z-28 SS. I custom ordered it with all the SLP upgrades availible including the Blistein Ul ra Performance suspension system. I've wanted one since they were introduced in 96. I love the color black, but as you already know I spend most of my days off at the car wash. I can't hardly afford it, but I think you understand why I make the sacrafices to own it. great site. You have a beautiful car. I have a friend that has a 1997 LT1 Camaro. Hes got flowmaster muffler and nitrous hooked up to it. He ran a best 12.48@116mph last week at Hallsville Raceway. You might think about putting nitrous to your car if you ant to get that time down. That is still a very respectable time though. New stock Corvetts wont even run that fast. that nitrous is sure tuff on the motor though. I am just wating for him to blow it up or a least blow a head gasket. He has already blown he cold air induction off of it once. But that car will damn sure run.

Let me start off by saying that im jealous! I have a 94 v6 coupe. I bought it in 98 w. 60kmiles. I love it soooo much that my girlfriend gets jealous. I have to say that the v6 does have some power when i turned off the ASR slip regulation(i had a mechani install an on off swich). I would like to buy a new one but the prices here in finland are tripple the price in the US. I bought the car in florida and then shipped it here(costoms were a pain in the a$$) Theres nothing more to say eccept I LOVE MY CAMAR !!! I have a '98 Z-28 Black , 6-speed, T-tops, all options, SLP Stainless Exhaust ,K+N, and Short Throw Shifter. I also did the free Ram Air mod described on LS1.COM (Unbelievable increase in HP !!) I can smoke stock SS's and pre-98 Vettes. I am sure the ram ir mod makes this possible. I love my car, but really want an SS. They look really mean without being flashy or gawdy. I plan to get a 2001 SS. Hopefully it will be available in the new Maroon color by 2001. The 2002 (35th anniversary) model will probably be impossible to get since it is the last year (for Camaro)according to Chevrolet. I emailed them and that is what they told me. Dude !! I love all camaros. First one was an'80 z-28 number 2 was a '74 z-28(my favorite)number 3 I rebuilt for a workcar, an '86 which I painted dark cloisonne metallic(a G.M. factory color, look that one up!) and my current one is a 1985 Iroc z28. I lik to customize them slightly(the '86 had corvette rally wheels the ring and center type). Current modifications are a pioneer stereo system, Flomaster exhaust and K&N filter chargers. Next is an oak headliner and console. Got any ideas for me ? Let me know And remember; Take pity on those guys you see in mustangs. They probably have never had the priviledge of even sitting in a camaro, because you know if they did they would never have bought a mustang !! Rev 'em hard ! The Hurricane

I just wanted to tell i like your SS a lot . It is a beautiful camaro . I wish i could have gotten a SS , but because of insurance reasons , i could'nt . I have a '98 rs camaro , with 407hp to the rear wheel . My mother got it for me thinking i would not be able to make it fast , but now i am one of the fastest v6's in the dallas/ft.worth metroplex . And i smoke v8's all the time . My favorite thing to do is to pull up next to a 5.0 mustang and ask if the want to run them , they ask what i have i say a v camaro . I bought a new '99 SS about six months ago, but I didn't drive it much over the winter (Michigan winter). It's a stock 6-speed manual, and I love it. I just wanted to tell my first racing story to people who'd appreciate it. I'm 23 and this is the firs car with real balls that I've ever owned. Anyway, I wanted to go pretty easy on the engine (RPM wise) 'till about 2000 miles. So when a stock looking Mustang Cobra pulled up along side me the other night one glance at 2357 on the ode' told me it was ti e. The Cobra was edging up, and reving his engine - he was up for it. I looked around and saw that the coast was clear. I turned off my ASR and waited. He actually edged up almost a car length in front of me before the light turned green. It made no ifference. I dropped the hammer and tore off past him like a bat outta hell. He did gain a little when I first got into 3rd, but I pulled away quickly thereafter. The Cobra never led once, and gave up the chase around 108Mph. It was awesome. My frien (another car enthusiast) had almost as high a pulse as I did (even from the passenger seat). We both agreed: The Camero SS is a superb blend of style and muscle. BTW cool site.

I will turn 50 this year and I still feel like 20. When I was that age I had a 66 GTO, best car I ever owned. It was stolen, stripped and that was the end of my muscle cars. Family, kids, cars, no muscle. In January we orderd a 2000 SS. "We" is my wif and me. Kids are grown. And its' time to muscle again. I am waiting for the car and have never driven a Camaro. Congrats. on your sweet ride man!I have a 95 Z with a few mods.I went with Edlebrock headers,high flow cat,Borla cat back,160 stat.trottle body air foil,and K&N cold air induction.Also I put OZ 17/9.5'rims with Yokahama 275/40/17 on front and 285/40/17 on rear.Race peddles,whiteface gages,and a SS style hood and wing.I would love to have a real SS but I guess a look-a-like will do for now.My tunes come from a pioneer cd,with Orion 6 1/2 coaxil mids,Autotech 400watt,and 800watt amps.Stinger lightining cap a d wires,and a 12inch G&S subwoffer.with this I went to Clay county drag strip in Ky.and ran 13.8 at 99 mph.Still give me a real SS any day!Any way cool site!Im 23 years old and hate to see the F-bodys go.here is you a cool stereo site,my buddy owns this s op,and they did my install.it's www.streetproducts.com.Stay cool man and maby Ill see you in Md.this year.we can battle a little.C-YA.

Mike, Hey, how's it going? Since you have two similar interests as I, I was wondering if you, or anyone who reads this, might be able to answer a question. The major car rack manufacturers (Thule, Yakima) no longer make ski racks, or any kind of rack for that matter, to fit newer Camaros ('93 and on). This is due, they say, to the roof configuration. Do you know of any companies out there that might have designed a way around this? Perhaps something that mounts to the spoiler? Just throwing this out there. Thanks!

I was looking over your time slips at the track and I know how it feels to get slow et's the first tim back on the track. I went last night to Jax. Raceway and it was my first night at the track. Very interesting night. Beleive it or not my first run was my best run all night. I raced with a friend of mine and I was just following his leads. Next 2 r ns weren't all that great. I too had the problem with traction all night long. Street radials just don't swing at the track. Are you power braking off the line? Reaction time is very important also. I kept leaving to late last night. Oh well. Pract ce eventually will make you better right. My best ET in the 1/8 last night was 8.79@ 82.9 mph. Feel free to e-mail me back with your comments.
