Ok, this isn't dust blowing, this is serious. A friend of mine from on-line here told me a very sad "story" about a little boy she knows. He was tragically killed on July 4th, 1998 by his 15 year old cousin with a handgun. Alex was only 7 years old.
This world is a pretty scary place, and we owe it to ourselves and future generations to make it a nice place to live and grow up and most importantly give our children and their children and so on, the opportunity to grow up in a safe and healthy environment. An environment that does NOT have firearms within ANY kind of reach of children, does NOT condone "everybody" packing weapons for "self defence", and one that DOESN'T in all seriousness claim that "Guns don't kill people, people kill people." BULL****!!! I've yet to hear of a gun just deciding for the heck of it to blow a hole in somebody just because it was bored. There was a person on the other side of that gun that pulled the trigger or was fooling around & got careless, and THAT'S THAT!!!TAKE responsibility for it!! And take responsibility for the CHILDREN.
For a beautiful celebration of Alex's life and a solemn reminder that it is our obligation to love our children with all our hearts and keep them safe, please visit the following sites:
Thank you Alex, though your life may have been short, perhaps it is in your name that all of this madness may stop. God rest your soul young man!!
