FORS Rules Modifications Proposals

By Tim Carnahan

  1. Add a +2 to the Spin table (only) for spins in pit row.

The ability to spin in the pits and be ready to restart close to the pits, is too adventagous. Since all damage is now repairable, a penality of +2 would increase the chance that the car must spend extra time in the pits repairing the damage.

  2. State that every repair on a car takes an extra turn except for tire damage (flat spot tires and punctures tires).

It seems clear that both flat spot tires and punctured tires should be eliminated with a new set of tires. Other damage should take more time.

  3. Add a rule that Flat Spot tires and punctured tires are Not repaired on a quick pit stop.

Quick pits do not need to bestow this effect, I just want the rules clear. Either a quick pit does or does not...Lets have it be stated.

  4. The first push over top is a reliability roll. Once achieved, maintain the top speed at 20 over is NOT a reliability roll.
  5. Drop the statement that ``all tracks have three lanes at the start/finish line during the start''

This is untrue and unenforced. Some do and some do not. Keep it a track specific rule. Notably: Tracks have their own special rules.

  6. Change the starting order to be - First Over-acceleration is tested then the standing start table is rolled.

This is the way we have been playing it I beleive, not the other way around.

  7. Make BOTH hot and Cold tires used to gain/lose the line.
  8. Re-examine the change is top speed and handling table (cost).

    Per John Nestors initial input.

  9. Need to add a stetment to the effect that a car going > 80 mph that is forced off track immediately crashes and exits the race.

This is just a rules statement.
