Incident Report
  • Brian DeWitt's two pit stop stategy paid off with his first win of the season. He passed Don Tatum for the lead going into the final corner of the last lap.
  • Ron Rector drove like a berserker in the first part of the race, taking, and making, three unmodified cornering rolls within the first three laps.
  • John Weber pulled off on lap 1 while in 8th place after attempting, and failing, to move to the front of the pack and cause some havoc before he had to leave early.
  • Ron Rector pulled off on lap 5 while in 4th place after spinning off-track and damaging his car.
  • Drivers championship: Weber, 24; DeWitt, 18; Carnahan, 15; Rector, 13; etc.
  • Constructors championship: Lotus, 42; TWR (Arrows), 22; etc.
