The pit numbers listed above actually took place on the half-lap, i.e., a pit listed as taking place on lap two actually took place after two and a half laps. Severe and Weber failed acceleration pushes at the start and received +1 red cups. Carnahan, Higgins, and Lawrence successfully pushed the start. DeWitt and Weber each spun twice during the race, Carnahan spun once. Carnahan lost six wear while attempting to block a forced pass. The forced passer (?) only lost one wear. Bill Severe spun and crashed while entering the pit lane on lap three. Drivers championship closes up: Weber, 28; DeWitt, 27; Tatum, 23; Lawrence, 18; etc. Constructors championship: Lotus, 61; Williams, 33; etc.
