Well, most of you that are here probably already know me pretty well, or you wouldn't be here in the first place.  Of course, if you're trying to GET to know me better in order to stalk me, that's very flattering and you need psychological help.
My social work role model...
I was born in Alexandria, VA on January 10, 1980 and have lived in Virginia my entire life.  I moved from Springfield to Burke in 1986 where I currently reside, except for those eight months out of the year that I wile away at James Madison University where I am a rising senior and social work major.  My lower education (K-8) was spent at Saint Bernadette Catholic School in Springfield where I had more fun than one should be allowed.  And no, I wasn't beaten with rulers or brainwashed by nuns--we were more progressive than that (slightly).  From there, I graduated to The Thomas Jefferson High School of Science and Technology in Alexandria for four years of expanding my horizons with geek-oriented entertainment, primarily by my involvement in the Jefferson Athletic Association.  And so here I am now at JMU, awaiting my most difficult semesters.  My roommate of old, Justinne, has returned safely from Italy and she will join me next fall along with Jason and Andrew to take up residence in Stonegate for which we are all very excited.  STONEGATE!!!
Saint Bernadette with Our Lady of Lourdes
I have several interests to fill my spare time.  I enjoy reading, writing poetry, playing the piano, and doing volunteer work, especially animal-assisted therapy at local nursing homes.  This will be my final semester as President of Phi Alpha National Social Work Honor Society and then the torch will be passed to the next generation.  Thanks again to all who helped make a great year.  For the financial scene, I am currently employed at the Catholic Shop in Chantilly (for all your Catholic needs!)   During the school year, I work for JMU Parking Services where I was recently promoted to T2 (meaning I monitor for 4 hours/week and ticket for 8).  It is here that I am cursed, spat upon, and defamed with such names as "Nazi," "Gestapo," and most recently, "Floozie."  But what can I say?  No one ever claimed that serving justice was easy.
My own therapy dog, Cookie
Due to some confusion, I want to clarify the issue of my nickname and ICQ handle, "motoko."  Unaware of the circumstances when I received the name, I found out sometime ago that Motoko is a popular anime character and somewhat common Japanese name.  That is NOT why I chose it.  "MoToKo," as I formally write it, is simply my initials with o's in between--that's all.  I am not an obsessive anime fan, and anyone who tries to claim otherwise will have to answer to me--painfully.
Duke Dog and The TJ Colonial--together at last!
My alleged anime namesake...oh, I can see the resemblance, can't you?
