Projects
The Heritage Society have surveyed these various Graveyards, with the
exception of Larkhall Cemetery.These are all on CDRom and can be viewed in
Motherwell Heritage Centre, they are:-
- Airbles Cemetery,
Motherwell, from 1905 to 1989 along with the lair plan. (Lair
photographs will be added to later.

- Cambusnethan
(Greenhead) Old and part of the new Graveyard, Wishaw, with lair
photographs and lair plan, along with the history of

- Cambusnethan Old
Kirk. (The lairs in the new Graveyard are constantly being added to and
will be put onto CDRom.

- We now have the
minutes, on C.D. of the Cambusnethan Parish Records from 1704 - 1739.

- The indexing of the
Births, Marriage and Death Records of Cambusnethan Parish have just
recently been started and should be available at the end of the current
year.

- Carbarons Graveyard,
Netherton, Wishaw.

- Globe Cemetery,
Motherwell, from 1876 to 1985, with lair plan.

- Larkhall Monuments
(By Helen Grant) with photographs of the Lairs. The next section of the
Cemetery will hopefully be ready by November of this year.

- Kirk O'Shotts Lair Owners,

- South Dalzell Parish
Church, Motherwell, from 1815 to 1901, with lair plan and lair drawings.

- St. Patrick's
Graveyard. Dalzell Estate, Motherwell, from, 1608 to 1958, with lair
plan and lair drawings.

- Stane Cemetery,
Shotts

- Wrangholm Graveyard,
New-Stevenson, from 1876 to 1938, with lair plan.
The Heritage Society have over the recent years, researched and indexed
a large part of the Dalzell/Hamilton documents and these will eventually
be put onto CDRom.
- We have also
catalogued old photographs of Motherwell, Wishaw and Bellshill. These
can be viewed in the Heritage Centre.
- We are currently
indexing the Wishaw Press Newspaper and hope to finish this project next
year.
- Some of our
volunteers are at the moment, transcribing the Dean of Guild Court books
of Motherwell and Wishaw, from 1864 onwards.

- The Society, in
conjunction with Joe O'Raw have begun to index all the soldiers of Motherwell, who fell in the Great
War. This is a huge task and will take many months by our volunteers to
complete.
In conjunction with Douglas Miller of Rosebank Productions, the Society
are at the moment busily engaged in collecting material for the
production of a film of Dalzell House, Motherwell, the Estate and the
Old Churchyard of St. Patrick's. This will be started in the summer of
this year.
- If you have any
queries or questions regarding the History of, either Bellshill,
Motherwell, Wishaw, or Cambusnethan, or if you would like to find out
where your late relatives stayed or where they are buried, our
researchers will try and help.
- The Society also
publish a monthly Newsletter, with items of local interest, which will
be put onto our Web page.
