Mother's against Deadbeat Dads!
This idea came to me one day as I was sitting in the emergency room with a sick child. I saw a banner that said, "MADD", "Mother's Against Drunk Driver's". As I definitely support this group, the thought about Mother's against Deadbeat Dads came to my mind. I decided to make a go of this one! I know there are so many deadbeat dads out there!!!
Here is my deadbeat dad story......
I was married to my ex-husband, Randy, for 16 years. We had two children together. Not once was he ever there for them. He preferred to hang out with his buddies than to be a dad. Nor did he prefer to hold down a steady job. I supported the family myself. After years of threatening to leave him, I finally stood up for myself and my boys, left him and later we were divorced. He was ordered to pay a VERY small amount of child support, which I might add he never has. We live in the same town (which only has about 3300 people in it), but my sons hardly ever see their dad. They call him and ask for rides to school, or to go fishing, but he either never has the gas to go or has something else going on. Yes, I am blasting this man here! I could go on and on about this man and probably will update this post as time passes.
