Thirteen years ago, the winds of change blew her sails of fortune in a new direction, to Russell, Ontario, 30 minutes south of Ottawa, where she settled with her husband and three children. During her sojourn in this close knit farming community, Kim was involved with RAPA, a local theatre group and she penned, directed and produced her first interactive murder mystery dinner theatre, Shake, Throttle and Roll, as a church fundraiser. To sooth her musical sweet tooth, Kim performed with PMS, a womens quartet and co-founded a musical comedy duo, Two Tunes, both which performed locally and in Ottawa. Kim also performed in the Gilbert and Sullivan comic operas The Mikado, Iolanthe, and H.M.S. Pinafore, as Buttercup, with the Savoy Society of Ottawa. |

During this time she returned to academia after a twenty year hiatus and graduated from Algonquin College, Ottawa, with an Honors Diploma in Dramatic Scriptwriting. Kim also worked as an editor and writer with a community newspaper, The Prescott-Russell News. |
