Birth Doula services include:
- a free initial consultation/interview with no obligation. References are available.
- 1-2 prenatal meetings. During these meetings I can assist you in preparing a birth plan (if desired), discuss your needs during childbirth, review pain management techniques, and discuss any questions or concerns you have.
- 24 hour phone or email support for any pregnancy related questions or concerns.
- On call for your birth 2 weeks before and after your due date. I also have a back-up doula available.
- continuous labor support from the time you call me to about 2 hours after the birth.
- breastfeeding support immediately after the birth if desired.
- a postpartum visit 1-2 weeks following the birth to discuss your birth experience and answer any questions you have concerning breastfeeding, newborn care, or postpartum recovery. I can also give an infant massage demonstration.
- a typewritten birth story.
Birth Doula fees:
I believe every woman who desires a doula should have one regardless of her financial situation. Therefore, my fees are based on a sliding scale. The average fee is $200 for all the services listed above. A non-refundable $50 retainer fee is due at the first prenatal visit to reserve my services for your due date. The remainder of the fee is due before your 36th week of pregnancy.
