| THE SPLINTER DONALD ELLIS JANUARY 30,1994 Why in the world does a tiny splinter Cause a grown man such pain. That even though he thinks he's saved He may burst out the Lords name in vain. He will tell his wife, I know it's there. I juste can't see the blessed thing. But then I rub a certain way, Ouch, there it is again. He will take the tweezers and pick around. The place or depth he does not have a clue Then he will look to the sky and say Lord, what pain are you putting me through. This may have happened to you my friends. or maybe something similar in the past. A splinter here or a small cut there and to the lord a short blast. If this doesn't hold true for the likes of you Then this little rhyme simply has no bearing, It has happened to me, I take the blame. I am not proud to go around swearing, Oh, for such a little thing, no bigger than a hair For me to be so stupid as to say to the Lord and swear. |
