| I would like to tell you alittle about the man named Donald Ellis that has wrote the poems on this page. I came to know him and his wife Sonja kinda in a tragic sorta way. You see Bro Don is very ill or should I say was very ill due to a tumor on his brain. But by God's will Bro Don is greatly improving. It was just over 2 years ago that I started attending a church Called New Hope Baptist church. Once a year they have this little get together called Jubilee. It is a sight to . Gods people doing something as wonderful as this is definatly a blessing. we had been to this church for awhile but never really knew Bro Don and his wonderful Wife Sonja. But the wensday before the very first Jubilee bro Don had to undergo a very serious sergury. A young girl that had been coming to church with us was saved that night and we felt that the hospital was were we needed to be. That was the start of a very good blessing in my life. Bro Don may not know this but he has been a very guiding person in my life. No matter how bad things were he never complained to any of us. He would just thank God he was there and would praise God's name. No one could ever meet him or Sonja with out leaving with something. He has tought me how to be a better christian, to thank God no matter how dark the night is that the day will always come. Bro Don has only been saved for a short time June 16, 1992, but after he was saved God blessed him with this talent to write peotry. And I feel that if I keep it to myself and don't share this then I'm really holding out on a blessing.......... |
