Jan Akkerman - acoustic guitar
Jan plays a Lowden OS 25 acoustic guitar via a Peavey Preamp (Tube Flex)

This CD was actually made nearly four years ago but has only just been released. Jan is on excellent form weaving his old magic with nothing more than an acoustic guitar. Old themes are re-worked (Central Station from Pleasure Point becomes Central Park) and Jan's sense of humour is never far away; checkout the country version of Liszt's Liebestraum - outrageous. He also includes some lute music by the English composer Holborne and some old Focus themes. This was recorded live but has had the audience removed so that it sounds like a studio album. The playing is spellbinding, especially when you realise that there are no overdubs.

Highly recommended.
