My name is Motaz Abdel Azim. I was born in Khartoum (Capital of Sudan) in Sunday 16, November, 1975. Now I life in Sajana (Sajana is about 10 minutes from Kartoum). I was graduated at Sudan university of science and technology in 1999 in which I was study computer system.
I study primary school at Sajana. When I reach 5th year of primary school I move with my family to Saudi Arabia (KSA) and I was 10 years old. We stay there in Jezan for 5 years. I studied in Alnajamia village, a very nice quite village in the eastern-south corner of KSA. When I'm 11 or 12 years old my mother bought for me a small personal computer called Sakhr MSX. This computer was the first computer I've seen. Before that time I do not know what is computer was. It's speed was 3.8 MHZ, Z-80 processor, 64 K bytes memory, without hard disk, floppy drive, or any secondary storage device. All things can you can do is to run it's programs which stored in it's ROM and cartridges. In it's ROM there are 4 programs : Calendar, Painter, Editor, and Basic version 1. It was a great computer !!. I write some Basic programs with this computer, but all programs erased after turning off computer. After two years I bought a cassette tape recorder which can be connected with a special cable to my computer to save and load files. I write more basic programs and I save them in tapes. When I become in university I was familiar with Basic programming which I like very much. At university I work with different kinds of computers (IBM 386 15 MHz). It was a wonderful computer because it has a hard disk and floppy drives which I really miss in Sakhr MSX. First year at university I keep programming with Basic using QBasic interpreter. At the middle of the first year I learned my self Turbo Pascal, I write some small games at that time (you can find it in My Turbo Pascal programs page). At the end of first year my uncle bring to me a Mitac computer, it was 486sx, 25 MHz, 4 M Bytes RAM, and 80 Mega bytes hard disk. At the second year I continue working with QBasic and Turbo Pascal 7, at the middle of the second year I stop working with Basic and I use Turbo Pascal. After that I begin working with C++ and assembler but I do not like them... Really no thing like Turbo Pascal 7 at that time. Before the third year I go to Saudi Arabia in 1997 and my father bought to me Pentium 100 Mhz, 8 M Bytes RAM, 8x CD-ROM. In the last year I begin windows programming using Visual Basic 3, it was a very poor development tool at that time. Eventually I found Delphi - the best development tool I ever seen - it was Delphi 2 developer. In 2002 I bough Pentium 4, 1.7 GHz, I have Linux, Windows 98, and Windows 2000 on it, but really no thing like the old days with Dos and Turbo Pascal 7. At the moment I'm working with Turbo Delphi 2006 for telecommunication system. I'm studying new distributions of Linux and using it at home. .
That's my story.
