Please Bear With Me:

This Site is Under Construction polarstern

This photograph was taken as my colleague walked back towards our temporary home, the F/V Polarstern- a German icebreaker run by the Alfred Wegener Institute. We were north of Svalbard (at about 80 degrees north latitude) in the Greenland Sea and have intentionally frozen in to the ice. We drifted southward with the ice until it broke up. This was part of the International Greenland Sea Experiment (ARKTIS '93)
