  • Fenced on the MIT's Men's JV Epee Team (as long as the opposing team's coach allowed women to fence his men; only Harvard's coach ever denied me permission)
  • Been a Volunteer Instuctor of Therapeutic Horseback Riding
  • Lived in an Alaskan cabin without running water
  • Participated in Outward Bound's Maine Sea Program
  • Taken my camera up mountains, down rivers, out onto glaciers, out to sea, to the arctic, and to many national parks (check out my photos page if you are interested!)
  • Worked for a summer at Yellowstone Park's Canyon Cafeteria
  • Hurricane Island Outward Bound's Maine Sea Program (26 days sailing off the coast of main, including a 2-day island solo)
  • Explored a cave no one had ever been in before (a limestone cave on Coronation Island, Alaska). Yes, we did it right, didn't harm anything and wrote up a report afterwards.

    Warming up!

I can be emailed at: [email protected] Thanks for visiting! me Here I am, on the arctic ice at about 80 degrees north latitude. The weather on this trip was extremely cold, dipping to -40 without the wind chill (about -90 F or -70 C with the wind chill factor). All in the name of science...
