May I Have This Dance?

Thank you for the gifts you gave
The laughter and the sorrow
You helped me wish on falling stars
And dream of our tomorrows

"My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away."
--Song of Solomon 2:10-13

My Husband
My Sweetheart
My Friend

God truly blessed my life when He brought you into it. I'm so thankful that He overrules what we think we want and gives us what we need. At the time we met, I didn't think I ever wanted another man in my life and I think you probably felt the same way about women.

Though we had never met nor even caught a glimpse of one another, the first time you called me, we were on the phone for hours. We hit it off from the very beginning.

When I stop and think about everything that has transpired in the past 17 years of marriage and almost 5 years of dating, I am astounded. If God had let us know what was ahead, I think we would both have taken off running in opposite directions.

But in His foreknowledge, He knew we should be together and I can't thank Him enough for the blessing you have been to me. You are most definitely a spiritual leader and the head of our home but you have never made me feel any way but loved, protected and happy to be your wife. You have taught me so much about trust, love, honor, and how our word is our bond. You have shown me the faith of a small child and how you just put your hand in God's and completely trust Him to do what is best in every situation.

So many times in our lives together, you have made me laugh. Thank you so much because before we met, I honestly didn't know if I could laugh again. Thank you for teaching me that change is not always bad. Though I want to fight it tooth and nail, you have shown me that no matter what, it happens and I need to watch for what God is going to do through the changes.

I love you with all my heart and can't imagine my life without you. My prayer is that God will completely heal you and we will be together until God takes us home.

Thank you for loving me and showing me what love truly means. We all can "fall in love" but to stay in love, we have to make a resolve that no matter what, we will love one another. That's exactly how God is with us. We all come short but He loves us despite of ourselves.

You are such a blessing to me.

I love you,
"Your Sweetie"
Mosh
