Grandpa
The One Man I Had Wrapped Around My Little Finger

I was 6 months old when you came and took me and my sisters home to live with you and Grandma.

I wish I could remember more about you than I do but what I do remember is precious.

You would come home so tired from working all day at the saw mill. You would sit down in the rocker and I would crawl up in your lap. I put my arms around your neck, gave you a big hug and asked, "Grandpa, will you please take me to the store?" Of course, you would take me.

On rainy days, when the sawmill was closed, you would climb up in the loft of the barn to try and get some private time alone with the Lord. You would read your Bible, pray, and work on your sermons.

I don't remember any certain sermon you preached, but I do remember you telling us that we were sinners and needed salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for making sure we knew that. Thank you for letting God use you to bring me to a saving knowledge of Jesus.

Thank you for taking the time to run me all over creation selling Bible pictures, so I would win a Bible.

After all, who could resist a little squirt like I was then and a preacher. I still have my Bible, though it is worn and falling apart.

You too, have gone on to be with the Lord. God took you home early in my life. I was six. I wish we could have had more time together here on earth but one day we will be able to spend the ages together.

I love you and can't wait to see you again.

Love
Your granddaughter
