Grandma
My God-Given Blessing

I wish I had taken the time to really tell you the love and feelings I had for you. We, the Lewis', were known for not showing our emotions, we just knew we were loved. But it is so good to be told and shown by hugs, kind words & gestures.

At the time in your life when you should have been able to slow down and enjoy things, you were saddled with responsibility that shouldn't have been yours. You were given the care of a 6 month , 2 year, and 4 year old. You had already raised seven of your own children but I never remember hearing you complain.

You were such an example of a life dedicated to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. You told us that if we couldn't say something good about folks, don't say anything at all. You never put our parents down in front of us girls. I really appreciate that. Kids hear everything and it sticks with them all their life.

I remember crawling up in your lap when it was storming and you always made me feel safe.

Sometimes my legs would hurt so much that I couldn't walk and you would carry me to bed.

You have since gone home to be with the Lord. I miss you so much sometimes, I can hardly stand it.

I still dream about you and it is as real as if you were still here. I wouldn't bring you back for anything, though, knowing that now you are no longer blind and you are no longer in pain.

You were one of the most special people God ever made.

I am looking forward to the day when we will be reunited in Heaven.

God blessed me immensely by allowing me to be raised by you and I thank Him for being so generous to me.

I love you,
Your granddaughter
