No One like Mother

(written by her son Howard, many years ago)

Daddy is alright; he's jus bout
fine as they make 'em.
But if you want good pie or cake
I'll say, it takes Mother to bake 'em.

Daddy can make dandy slingshots,
he knows how to sail a kite
But when I've got a smashed finger
only Mother can do it up right.

Daddy can make willow whistles
and play ball like he's my brother;
But when I get sick, there's no one
can smooth out the pillows like Mother.

If Daddy's too busy to help me
I get along some way or other
But I find again and again, that
I can't get along without Mother.
