Fallen Leaves
by Edmund Buckley

Deep through the forest leaves
where children play, rain

Tip taps the branches’ weary arms
until they weaken at the wrist
give in, and allow the leaves
to dance with the wind through the
air, so graceful, silent,

beautiful motion, till
they drop down, into the trodden earth
below.
