Escape from the Island of Dr. Squiggle Sock

Deep under the water, far over the sea,
Behind the Blue Moon, between you and me,
Lies an Island, an Island you can't touch or see,
Where Squigglesock rules, and giggles in glee!

They whisper about it after you go to bed,
Of the things that are precious that quietly fled,
Without a goodbye to this runaway land,
Of things that were borrowed by a shadowy hand!

Mom and Dad sit up late making lists of what's gone,
And lists of the lists of the lists that go on,
For pages and miles and inches and feet,
Of treasured possessions that have all gone to meet

DR SQUIGGLESOCK!!!!!

Mom's car keys, Dad's clock,
Gran's turkey, your sock,

Anne's shoes and Garth's knife,
Bob's neighbour and wife!

Sam's cat and Tom's dog,
Uncle Squib and his frog,

The screw from the door,
And the nail from the floor,

That bucket and spade,
The tree (and consequently) it's shade!

The cake from the fridge,
And poor Aunty Midge!

Have all been borrowed and whispered away,
To Squigglesock's Land where the skreezles all play.
In Squigglesock's Land in the blink of an eye,
A thousand years and a day can go by.

The trees are all purple, the grass is bright blue,
And the Zeebs and the Skreezles fight over the dew!
It's a scrantabulous place, believe me it's true!
There is only one thing that is missing, and that is you!

So be careful young children, whatever you do,
Don't leave things lying around that are precious to you!
Squigglesock sees, he borrows, he lends,
He'll take all your spoons, your socks and your friends!

He'll borrow your cat, your dog, and your fish,
So keep quiet and tidy and wash every dish.
He's kind but forgetful, he'll forget to bring back,
The things that he's borrowed like Jan, Jim and Jack!

Keep all your gloves labelled, keep your spoons under lock,
And you won't have to escape from the Island of Dr Squigglesock!
