Haiku

I

Lily's leaves- Upturned
palms that gently collect drops
of summer's warm tears.

II

Water balloons burst
Excited squeals fill the street.
I join the blue team.

III

Indian summer
nights: legs swaying from the pier.
The sea sprays my soles.

IV

Lost souls in darkened
cells, terrified to sleep-The
night sky swallows dreams.

V

Sail to distant lands,
every corner of the earth.
You are still alone.
