Seasons in the Abyss

Here are my favorite stories featuring Illyana Rasputin. There are many more out there, but rather than create a huge all-inclusive archive, I've tried to be very selective and include only stories that stay close to the original character and display a high quality of writing.

Shattered Glass, Broken Dream	by Magik
This story is told from Doug Ramsey's point of view, who is pining after Illyana while recovering from his injuries. This takes place in alternative timeline where Doug wasn't killed, but was rescued at the last second by a familiar yellow stepping disc.

Our Lady of the Cloven Hooves

Warning: NC-17 for explicit sexual situations.

A dark, erotic story starring Illyana, Kitty Pryde, and Doug Ramsey. I don't care for the ending but must admit it's a great read, frightening and a little disturbing. Rather kinky too.

Kid Dynamo

Warning: NC-17 for some sexual situations.

This is a novel-length story about the New Mutants, taking place during Magneto's stewardship of the school, and before Doug and Illyana's deaths. The focus of the story is not on Illyana, but rather a made-up character who can be a bit much sometimes, but the characterization of the New Mutants and their teachers is so well done the story is certainly worth reading. And if you're a New Mutants fan, it must be read, since it's much better in many ways than the tail end of that doomed series.

The author later went on to publish a number of short stories in fantasy anthologies and magazines, proving that fan-fic authors can make it to the next level.

Heads and Tails	by Phil Foster
Illyana ponders her dual nature of good and evil while she's supposed to be doing a homework assignment. Bittersweet, well-written little piece that captures Illyana extremely well.
