60-mm Mortar
The 60mm mortar is a conventional smooth-bore, muzzle-loading weapon designed to produce high angle fire. The equipment consits of the barrel and baseplate. It is fired by droping a bomb down the muzzle. The etting selector lever determines the method by which the firing takes place. If the firing pin is locked out, the primer drops onto it and the bomb is fired. If the firing pin is retracted, the firing lever must be pulled back in order to fire the bomb. It has a range of 100 to 800m and fires three types of ammunition. The first type of ammunition is the High Explosive or HE round. The second type is the smoke round which is prmarily made up of White Phosphorus. The third type is the illumination round which last for a maximum of 25 seconds with a minimum of 330,000 candela.
