The house is cool and shady in summer when it can be 35 outside, and it is quiet as it is set on its own land - two beautiful lime trees to hang your hammock on.
Upstairs (ground floor at front, first floor at back due to slope of land) : kitchen/dining/living room with exposed beams, tiled floor, open fire with insert. Kitchen fitted with cupboards etc. Bathroom/WC.
Large sitting room
with mezzanine (good office/study area) and entrance to attic. Bedroom, faces East.
With large cupboard and washbasin.
Veranda (fully glazed terrace), opening off dining/living room. Second bedroom, with shower. (Off veranda.) Terrace, opening off sitting room. Both terrace and veranda face south.
Downstairs : Wine cellar in semi-underground part. A nice south-facing room (old stable) which could be converted WC and shower. Third bedroom, with shower. Small laundry room, plumbed for washing machine.
Outbuildings : Woodstore, attached to West end of house. Workshop, attached to East end of house - would make a nice bedroom. LARGE (65 square metre) modern outbuilding with two levels, could be converted to gites. (Subject to planning permission.) See photo above.
Nearby is the plateau of Valensole, the biggest lavender-growing area in the world which looks beautiful and smells amazing in July.
The two nearest villages are La Palud, a centre for outdoor sports, and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, one of the prettiest villages in the whole region, famous for its hand-painted pottery. The lac Sainte-Croix (20 minutes drive) is wonderful for swimming and sunbathing, or hiring canoes or pedalos to explore the gorge.
